    The team at a Hampton location was required to deal with a guest who was violating a safety statute set by state fire and rescue teams. After the guest would not cooperate, local law enforcement was involved.

    The guest turned out to be a minor social influencer but one with enough clout to begin disparaging the location and the brand online, and to spearhead a review bombing campaign.

    Mace Strategic Communications was tapped to assist with putting together and distributing a statement that clearly laid out why the hotel took the action it did, and how the matter was handled appropriately and according to protocol. Further, Mace assisted with a counter-campaign to help encourage people who had had a positive experience with the location to leave positive reviews to combat the unearned negative ratings.
